What Triggers Clinomania

Clinomania which is also known as Dysania is a condition where a person prefers staying in bed all day. As unusual as this condition sounds, there are a number of people who suffer from it. While it is often associated with laziness, clinomania has nothing to do with being lethargic or sleepy at all times. A person who suffers from this condition can wake up like a normal person, however he or she doesn’t feel motivated enough to get out of bed and carry on the daily activities like a normal person. Clinomania can be triggered due to a number of reasons. Let’s explore some of the common reasons that can cause clinomania.

Lack Of Motivation – A person who does not feel motivated is prone to clinomania. If you put in a lot of effort into something and you expect an appreciation in return, you tend to feel let down when you don’t get one. While some people let it go and move on, others tend to take it to heart. This makes them lose interest in what they do. If you’re upset about not being appreciated at your workplace, in your relationship or family, make sure you talk about it. Discussing your feelings does not make you a smaller person, it helps you let go of the small things that bother you and it also helps others learn what to say to you.

Motivation is essential to keep you going. It helps boost your confidence and it gives you a reason to go to work, meet your loved one or come back home to your family each day. Appreciation is vital and it is important for you to learn to appreciate others for the good they do and ensure they appreciate you when needed.

A Bad Incident – When something bad happens we all feel let down. This could be the death of a loved one, a break up or a financial crisis which could affect you. The one thing you need to remember is that bad incidents are as common as the good ones and they are a part of life. While some people can handle a bad situation, others succumb to it and get into a shell. This causes them to isolate from the outside world and find solace and peace in their bed. While it’s not possible to avoid a bad situation, you need to learn to deal with it. Different people handle situations differently and this is based on a person’s nature, however each person needs to understand that drifting apart from the people that care for you is not a solution. This will make you feel worse and clinomania will get the better of you.

Talking is one of the best ways to avoid feeling hurt for a long time. If you’re upset about certain occurrences in life talk about it and make sure you get it off your chest. Clinomania is not something you can live with; it’s a serious condition that needs to be treated. If you can’t handle it, you can always seek medical assistance.
